shock therapy

Here I am after taking an electric muscle stimulation (EMS) workout in NYC last week. Supposedly, EMS condenses three hours of a conventional strength training into a thirty minute workout by sending electric currents to different muscle groups while you wear a power suit. By dialing a master control connected to your suit, which was provided by the studio, the trainer can adjust the depth of the shocks. I worked up a nice sweat and left the studio feeling giddy, looking forward to feeling the effects later that night or within 24 hours, like the trainer said I would. But alas, I didn’t feel any delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) like I believe I should have. So, in conclusion, as of now there do not seem to be any shortcuts to fitness.
PS I’ll go back again soon and give it one more try tho!
