Get your groove on

It never ceases to amaze me the number of  choices in NYC there are to  get your body in gear.  for example, take these:

Core at Unity Yoga ($22 a session) Fast paced Vinyasa set to a soundtrack of indie, R&B and hip hop. This class will reduce tension in the hips, back, neck and shoulders. Arrive at the 6:00 AM class and there will be as few as  three people, compared with 14-25 in later sessions.

Broadway Dance Center ($18 per class)  this place offers an array of classes taught by guest teachers. You name it, they got it –  jazz, tap, ballet, Latin jazz, street style, wacking, vogue femme and more. The place is funky, filled with characters and right in the heart of the Times Square area.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater ($17 a class) offers West African set to live drum music, belly dancing, capoeira, ballet, salsa, hip hop taught by Madonna and Brittany’s former back up dancer . . . just to name a few

Exhale Spa ($37 a class)  a full body  workout designed to give you chiseled abs, toned legs, cut arms, and a high, lifted butt. This ballet inspired, core-centric class focuses on isolated exercises, alignment, flexibility and posture.  Every hard worked pushed to the limit muscle is followed by a deep, relaxing stretch. Expect anywhere between 10 – 35 in  a class. After working up a sweat, treat yourself to a blowout available right outside the locker room ($20)
